5th International Meeting of Early Brass Instruments
On Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 5 PM, the Romanesque church of Balbronn offers an exceptional concert as part of an international meeting of early brass instruments. This event, inspired by meetings held between 2009 and 2013, brings together musicians playing the cornetto and sackbut from France, Switzerland, and Germany. Their goal is to form an ensemble capable of performing the rich polychoral repertoire, mainly Italian, from the 16th and 17th centuries.
For this anniversary edition, emphasis is placed on collaboration with the church's restored organ. Works by Gabrieli, Gussago, Croce, and Merulo will be performed, offering listeners striking sound effects thanks to the spatialization made possible by the building's clear acoustics.
