Cinema - Our Salvation
September 1940. Henri Marre arrives in Vichy, destitute and isolated, far from his family. He seizes the opportunity offered by the new regime to impose his engineering ideas and contribute to the rebirth of France after the defeat.
Yet behind this patriotic commitment lies another urgency: to escape his own personal downfall.
This film, inspired by the true story of director Emmanuel Marre's great-grandfather, explores the dilemmas and contradictions of individual paths during the Occupation. Featuring a powerful performance by Swann Arlaud, this intense drama was awarded the Best Screenplay Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
