ZOOM Exhibition: Faces and Works from the Würth Collection
While the works of Jean Arp and Georg Baselitz are well known at the Würth Museum in Erstein, their faces often remain unknown to the public. The ZOOM exhibition: Faces and Works from the Würth Collection invites visitors to discover them through more than a hundred photographs of major European and American artists from the 20th century. Among them are Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol, and David Hockney, whose portraits are displayed alongside their own creations. This juxtaposition encourages a fresh rediscovery of these figures from a unique angle: their dual identity as both subject and creator. The exhibition highlights the subtle dialogue between artist and photographer, with the latter capturing, with great sensitivity, the essence and energy of their peers. Photographs by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sabine Weiss, Lee Miller, and Arnold Newman reveal stolen moments, sometimes in the intimacy of studios, offering a fascinating dive into the creative worlds of these talents.
