Jeremy Dutcher in Concert at Haguenau
Jeremy Dutcher stands out as one of the most striking voices on the Canadian music scene. Trained in classical singing and originating from the Tobique First Nation in Eastern Canada, he creates a unique body of work at the crossroads of classical music, jazz, and experimental pop.
His artistic approach is rooted in a deep cultural transmission process, blending voices from the past with a vision aimed at collective healing.
Accompanied by Stefan Schneider and Samuel Gleason, he forms a trio that shapes a sound world both intimate and expansive. The traditional songs of his ancestors, sung in Wolastoqey—his endangered Indigenous language—interact with rich and innovative contemporary textures. Between new compositions in English and reinterpretations, the concert becomes a space for connection and listening, an invitation to explore stories of resilience, identity, and transformation.
A performance both political and deeply human, capable of moving the listener.
