The Christmas Market Chalets
Just 20 minutes from Strasbourg, Haguenau invites you to experience an authentic and warm Alsatian Christmas. From November 20 to December 30, 2026, except December 25, the Christmas market sets up in the town with 70 enchanting chalets spread across several squares. Each day, the magical atmosphere and colors of the city center immerse you in a festive mood, away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. You'll find local and handmade products, Christmas decorations, gift ideas, and seasonal treats to enjoy on-site or take away. Opening hours vary by day: 2 PM to 7 PM on Mondays, 10 AM to 7 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and 10 AM to 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Special hours apply on November 20 (4 PM–8 PM), December 24 (10 AM–4 PM), and December 26 (2 PM–8 PM). For five weeks, activities, exhibitions, concerts, storytelling, and encounters with legendary characters enliven the days. Visitors can enjoy mulled wine or try the "dampfnudel," a beloved local specialty. Children will delight in a 1900s carousel with wooden animals on Place de la République. The Tourist Office is available to advise on accommodations, restaurants, and activities in Haguenau.
