Solidarity Christmas Market

Around the church of Matzenheim, a typically Alsatian Christmas market is set up to celebrate the end-of-year festivities. About fifty exhibitors offer Christmas decorations, Advent wreaths, lights, candles, jewelry, floral arrangements, paintings, sculptures, pottery and ceramics, wooden toys, southern products, honey, cookies, and Christmas trees. Visitors, young and old, can enjoy various activities: the presence of Saint Nicholas on Saturday and Santa Claus on Sunday, demonstrations of old trades, mischievous elves on Saturday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, as well as a musical nativity scene on Sunday at 1:45 PM and 2:30 PM. Three concerts are also scheduled in the Saint-Sigismond church of Matzenheim: a gospel concert by the Sun Gospel Singers choir on Saturday at 6:30 PM, a children's school concert on Sunday at 10:30 AM, and a concert by the vocal ensemble Arpèges on Sunday at 4:30 PM. Organized by the Association Noël Solidaire in Matzenheim, this market donates its proceeds to Vozama, a humanitarian association based in Madagascar. A refreshment stand and light catering are available on site to enhance the visit.
