Comedy - We Must Save Grandpa!

To close this edition of the festival in style, dive into an intergenerational comedy where laughter, tenderness, and twists intertwine. Raymond, a widower determined to start a new life in a retirement home, faces the stubbornness of his granddaughter who refuses to see him go. Amid misunderstandings and comical situations, Grandpa Raymond, determined not to give in, will give her a hard time. What if, to escape this pressure, he pretended to be crazy? Through sharp lines and delightful scenes, Jean-Christophe Barc delivers a play full of humor and emotion, delicately exploring blood ties, the right to choose one's life, and love at any age. A warm and irresistible show, perfect to share with family, blending lightness and depth with finesse.

The press and public have praised this creation: "A successful cocktail: humor, tenderness, rebellion, and a sense of reality combine wonderfully. It touches and feels good!" (La Provence). "When humor and family love light up the stage. A fine, sensitive, and funny text that brings all generations together." (Du Monde Y A Au Balcon). Audience members also shared their enthusiasm: "A comedy so true and hilarious! You immediately become attached to the characters, and the actors are fantastic."

The cast is led by Hervé Jouval as Raymond, alongside Alicia Crecq and Clara Thébault. The direction is by Jean-Christophe Barc himself, who is also the author of the play.
