Storytelling Walk: The Mother of Cats’ Walk – d’Kàtzemueter isch unterwëjs
Embark on a storytelling walk in French and Alsatian with Christine Fischbach, centered around the character of the mother of cats, a mysterious figure often linked to witchcraft in Alsace.
According to local beliefs, this woman, accompanied by her black cat, would roam the dark alleys on Walpurgis and Halloween nights to celebrate sabbats, dancing around steaming cauldrons until dawn. The legend tells that these gatherings, mixing magical potions and nocturnal creatures, are part of an Alsatian tradition rich in superstitions and mysteries.
The free and accessible walk will start on Friday, October 30 at 6 p.m. in front of the media library. Bring a flashlight for this exploration of local legends, followed by a friendly moment with hot drinks after the walk.
