OPUS Unusual Dinners, an Immersive Journey at the Cloître des Récollets
With this third edition presented in December, OPUS invites you to a sensory experience where reality seems to crack. It all starts familiarly, but the lights come alive, sounds settle in, and the space transforms into an immersive train carriage. Without always knowing the exact moment of the shift, you find yourself plunged into a moving universe where every detail seems animated with its own life.
Created by artist Julien Voarick, this immersive project plays with your perceptions and takes you on a constantly evolving journey. Changing sets, successive atmospheres, each sequence evokes a distinct emotion. You oscillate between show, art installation, and extraordinary dinner, never quite sure where the boundary lies.
Structured in six acts, the menu accompanies this adventure and becomes an integral part of the story. Flavors adapt to the moods, textures respond to the play of light, while food and wine pairings (or their non-alcoholic alternatives) extend sensations and deepen immersion. As the dishes progress, time seems to stretch, your bearings crumble to give way to surprise, curiosity, and the simple pleasure of letting yourself be carried away.
OPUS cannot be described: it must be experienced.
This project was awarded the 2024 Tourism Trophy in the Innovation category. It is part of "Your Unusual Dinners in Alsace," in partnership with the Chefs of Alsace, the Stars of Alsace, and Alsace Destination Tourism.
