Conference: The Birth of Aphrodite - From Myth to Rational Thought
According to the geographer and historian Herodotus, Aphrodite is said to be the daughter of Astarte, a Mesopotamian goddess associated with love and war. Born on Cythera, she later migrated to Cyprus around the 6th century BCE.
This movement between islands reflects a major transition in human history: the emergence of scientific thought, which seeks to explain the mysteries of the world not through deities or spirits, but through natural laws.
The conference will be followed by the opening of a refreshment stand, providing a moment of conviviality and exchange among participants.
