The exhibition invites you to discover the unique and emblematic journey of young Alsatian women sent to Paris in the 19th or 20th century, affectionately nicknamed "Pàriser Tànte." These young women, placed as domestic workers in Parisian families, embodied an ideal of social success for their communities. Their mastery of French, elegance, refined manners, and culinary skills made them admired and respected figures in their home region.

Every Alsatian family could count one of these women among its members, a symbol of prestige and modernity. Their Parisian experience, though modest, left a lasting mark on their lives and that of their community.

Through innovative staging, the exhibition immerses you in the intimacy of these "Pàriser Tànte," offering a journey to Paris to relive their daily lives, challenges, and small victories. A rare opportunity to understand the cultural and social impact of these often overlooked women in history.
