Concert: Krzysztof Michalski (Cello)
For Krzysztof Michalski, chance played a key role in his life choices, influencing even his musical career and attachment to the cello. But when it comes to showcasing this instrument, nothing is left to chance. From the first notes, the young virtuoso pays tribute to Bach, who elevated the cello to an essential solo instrument.
He continues his journey with a demanding work by Penderecki, illustrating the technicality and boldness of the contemporary repertoire.
The recital concludes with Cassadó, whose rare and virtuosic pieces reveal the full expressive richness of the instrument.
A rising star of the cello, Krzysztof Michalski distinguished himself in 2024 at the prestigious ARD Competition in Munich. In May 2026, he also shone at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium. Accustomed to exceptional stages and major festivals, he recorded a first album in duo with Alexandra Bidi, principal harpist of the Orchestre de Paris.
