This performative lecture examines the role of screens and media in our contemporary society.

Through the character Marguerite and her life story, it traces the evolution of screens, from television to social networks, and explores their influence on our behaviors and how we consume information.

Drawing notably on the media coverage of social movements, it highlights mechanisms of manipulation, the sometimes hidden interests behind certain media, and the growing place of communication technologies in our daily lives.

The lecture invites reflection on the social issues related to the proliferation of screens, encourages developing critical thinking towards information, and considers ways to regain perspective on these now-ubiquitous tools.

A discussion with the audience follows the presentation to extend the reflection.
