Theater - Les Amazones

Written in 2003 by Jean-Marie Chevret, *Les Amazones* is a classic boulevard comedy.

The play features Annie, Martine, and Micky, three women in their forties living together to face life with humor and solidarity. Their daily life is turned upside down by the arrival of Guillaume, a fragile young man who awakens their wounds, desires, and contradictions.

Between bursts of laughter and tender moments, the play delicately explores female friendship, loneliness, love, and the quest for personal rebuilding.

Premiered at Théâtre Rive Gauche under the direction of Jean-Pierre Dravel and Olivier Macé, *Les Amazones* was an immediate success, totaling over 1,000 performances and establishing itself as an essential popular comedy. Twenty years after its creation, the play is revived for a new 2026/2027 season, with a staging revisited by Olivier Macé. True to the original spirit, this version incorporates contemporary elements while preserving the freshness and humanity of the text.

The female trio is now played by Jeanne Savary, Énora Malagré, and Ariane Brodier, while Terence Telle, Thomas Vilan, and Camille Durand complete the cast. This new production offers a decidedly modern and intergenerational energy, confirming *Les Amazones* as a comedy that remains as funny, heartfelt, and unifying as ever.

A subtle mirror of the bonds that build and save us.
