Mechanical Nativity Scene & The Path of Nativity Scenes from Around the World
At the Sainte Marie Church, built in 1935, there is a fully mechanical nativity scene where each figure moves gracefully. Restored in 1993 by Mr. Jost, this modern work features about thirty characters sculpted in the 1930s, with the Nativity brought to life through automata and an original, captivating staging. Every year, volunteers and friends contribute to its evolution, giving visitors the chance to observe its changes over time.
To extend the experience, the exhibition "The Path of Nativity Scenes from Around the World" invites you on a cultural journey through more than 170 nativity scenes from all corners of the globe. These pieces, loaned by parishioners, reflect the diversity of traditions and cultures. Accessible alone, with family, children, or in groups, this playful route can be explored at your own pace.
