Concert: Gabriel Pidoux - oboe | Jorge González Buajasán - piano
Immerse yourself in the refined world of the oboe through a program where poetry and virtuosity intertwine. The French school of oboe, one of the most prestigious in the world, is showcased here with major works by Saint-Saëns, Poulenc, and Dutilleux, which have beautifully highlighted the magic of this instrument. Three pieces dedicated to its delicate poetry will be followed by two dazzling showpieces designed to captivate the listener.
The concert features the talent of two renowned soloists: Gabriel Pidoux, "Instrumental Solo Revelation" at the 2020 Victoires de la Musique Classique, and Jorge González Buajasán, a sought-after soloist and chamber musician. Together since 2019, they form a complementary duo, praised by critics through two albums released in 2022 and 2026. Their artistic rapport promises a vibrant and subtle interpretation, where every shade of color and light unfolds with elegance.
The program offers a rich musical journey, beginning with Francis Poulenc's Sonata for oboe, followed by Henri Dutilleux's Sonata for oboe and piano. Adolphe Deslandres' Introduction and Polonaise will then pave the way for Poulenc's Mélancolie, an emblematic piece that highlights González Buajasán's delicate playing. The evening will conclude with Camille Saint-Saëns' Sonata for oboe and piano and Pasculli's Variations on a theme by Donizetti, delivering a virtuosic and enchanting finale.
