Confé' Evenings - At the Museum of Printed Textiles, the story of a looting

On November 12 at 8 PM, Hélène Poizat and Pierre Freyburger invite you to discover the troubling story of the looting of the Museum of Printed Textiles in Mulhouse. In April 2018, massive disappearances were revealed there. The museum director died after falling from a ladder while changing a light bulb, while the conservation delegate disappeared before being arrested a few weeks later. In 2026, the investigation is nearing its end, but the trial remains pending. The facts now point to an organized theft. How could this museum have been emptied of its oldest and rarest pieces, constituting the industrial heritage of Mulhouse, over nearly twenty years? Hélène Poizat, a journalist at L’Alsace who has covered the case from the start, and Pierre Freyburger, co-author of the graphic novel MISE À SAC, will discuss the unresolved aspects of this case. A refreshment stand will be open for the occasion.
