Symphonic Concert: The Metamorphosis of Destiny

These three post-Romantic scores, composed in the 1890s, reveal distinct musical worlds despite their shared context.

Alexandre Scriabin's *Rêverie*, with its enchanting softness, seems to touch paradise through its airy harmonies and intimate lyricism. His *Piano Concerto*, full of playful virtuosity, captivates with its sparkling temperament and dialogue between soloist and orchestra, carrying the listener into a whirlwind of joy and lightness.

Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, meanwhile, delves into the darkest depths with his *Symphony No. 6 "Pathétique"*. A testamentary work written during a period of great fragility, it oscillates between despair and resignation. The composer expresses an inner struggle through tormented themes, concluding with an adagio of heartbreaking beauty, often interpreted as a farewell song to life. Tchaikovsky died nine days after the premiere in Saint Petersburg, likely by suicide, adding a tragic dimension to this now emblematic symphony.
