Theater: The Consequences

Over twenty years, a bourgeois family gathers on rare occasions, confronted with the changes brought by the younger generation. The values that once united them gradually crumble, revealing deep tensions.

Pascal Rambert directs this family saga where, for the first time in theater, multiple generations are followed simultaneously both in their fictional story and their real aging on screen. The production features an exceptional cast: Marilú Marini, Jacques Weber, Anne Brochet, Arthur Nauzyciel, Stanislas Nordey, and Laurent Sauvage, alongside young talents from French theater. Two weddings and two funerals serve as occasions for these three generations to cross paths, talk, avoid each other, confront, lose, and find one another. Beneath sometimes harsh appearances, transmissions occur, sometimes intentionally, often despite themselves.

For Pascal Rambert, the passage of time allows us to approach our actions without imposed morality or judgment, simply embracing our joys, sorrows, hopes, renunciations, and their consequences on our lives.
