Theater: The Modern Little Girls (working title)

Joël Pommerat, winner of the 2026 Molière Award for directing, presents a theatrical creation inspired by a modern tale.

At the heart of childhood, two young girls, united by an unbreakable friendship, dare to defy adult authority to protect it. Their quest leads them to break the laws of reality, making the magical and supernatural their only shields against the trials they face.

The story subtly explores themes of love and friendship, but mainly focuses on fear and anger, universal emotions of adolescence. Pommerat showcases his writing talent, blending humor and accuracy without ever moralizing.

In this "theater novel," events are experienced and narrated simultaneously, while the characters' fears and nightmares take shape in spaces both dreamlike and terrifying. The supernatural thus becomes a tool to confront otherwise incomprehensible or unbearable realities.

The play is intended for audiences aged 13 and up.
