Concert - Commandant Coustou

In 2014, five musicians from the continent gathered on a peninsula between the Rhône and Saône rivers to embody a legendary sailor: Commandant Coustou. Aboard their musical project, they set out to discover the riches of the Caribbean.

Their first stop takes them to pre-war Trinidadian calypsos, which they passionately revisit.

The crew then draws inspiration from the incredible diversity of Afro-Caribbean music, exploring Cuban son, Martinican biguine, and Haitian twoubadou in turn.

After ten years of concerts and two albums, Commandant Coustou sets sail for new imaginary shores. Their destination? An alchemical archipelago where influences blend, like the Caribbean itself, to shape a unique Caribbean musical horizon.
