Film - The Welche Country, Those Who Lived It

For two months, filmmaker Robin Hunzinger shared the daily lives of residents in the retirement homes of Orbey-Pairis and Lapoutroie. Twenty-two of them agreed to open up, sharing their childhood memories, family stories, professional experiences, as well as the joyful and festive moments that marked their lives. Their accounts also touch on the hardships they endured, including the war and the upheavals that deeply transformed their generation.

These testimonies intertwine with film archives of the Pays Welche and personal photographs carefully preserved by the inhabitants. Together, they create a vivid fresco blending intimate memory and collective history.

Through these voices and images, a portrait of a territory and those who shaped it emerges, offering a perspective that is both personal and shared on a common past.
