Exhibition "The Art of Metropolitan Trails"

What if walking became a way to rediscover our territories from a new perspective? The exhibition "The Art of Metropolitan Trails" invites you to explore cities and their outskirts through a sensitive, cultural, and collective experience. It highlights metropolitan trails, a practice that began in Marseille in 2013 during the Marseille-Provence European Capital of Culture event, before spreading to other French and European metropolitan areas.

Created by the Pavillon de l’Arsenal in collaboration with the Metropolitan Trails Agency, this exhibition traces the origins of this approach, led by its co-founders Baptiste Lanaspeze and Paul-Hervé Lavessière. It pays tribute to the pioneers of this initiative and presents the key stages in creating a metropolitan trail. Visitors are encouraged to rethink how they inhabit the metropolis, observe everyday spaces differently, and imagine more sustainable cities.

Distributed free of charge by the CAUE of Alsace, this exhibition is aimed at local authorities, cultural institutions, associations, and educational organizations. Easy to install, it offers an original way to discover territories through walking while raising awareness of contemporary issues related to landscape, planning, and mobility.
