Christmas Treasure Hunt: Discovering the Shard of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines

From November 25 to January 6, embark on a festive and original adventure through 57 villages and towns in Alsace. Your goal? To find, step by step, the Christmas Shards scattered across the region to help shine the Flame of Alsatian Christmas. Each location holds a fragment of this magical light, and one of them is hidden here, in the Val d’Argent valley. According to legend, one of these precious shards mysteriously found refuge in the old silver veins of the area. Since then, tiny glowing nuggets have appeared here and there, as if escaped from the depths of the mountain. It is whispered that this Shard has taken up residence near two iconic objects of the local mining history... But which ones?
