Saint Lucia, Festival of Light

Every year, the Saint Lucia festival features a nighttime procession through the city streets.

Young girls dressed in white robes and wearing crowns of lights parade alongside the lamplighter and little light bearers.

This ceremony, full of poetry and symbolism, is inspired by a tradition still observed in Sweden on Saint Lucia's Day. It celebrates light and hope in an atmosphere that is both solemn and warm.
