Unusual - Odyssey
After the Trojan War, Odysseus begins a long journey to return to Ithaca. But the gods and fate oppose his return, confronting him with extraordinary trials: monsters, witches, cyclopes, and sea creatures.
This ten-year journey is at the heart of the Odyssey, the Homeric epic that inspires this unique show.
René Brillotte, a professor of ancient Greek, was originally scheduled to give a scholarly lecture on the theme "Odysseus, his name is nobody." However, his meeting with Marie-Louise Costaille transformed this presentation into a captivating musical performance. Two performers, Julie Costanza and Jean-Baptiste Darosey, embody fifteen characters between them, blending singing, dancing, and storytelling to offer a fresh and explosive version of this myth.
Directed by Stéphanie Gagneux, this production is part of the Compli'Cité Festival in Huningue. The À 2 pas de chez nous network is also a partner. The show lasts 1 hour and 10 minutes without intermission and is suitable for ages 7 and up.
