Family Show - Christmas in Alsace
Stéphane Herrada invites both young and old on a journey through time with ancestral tales and forgotten traditions.
Through a warm and poetic narrative, he revives the memory of our winters and dusts off the legends that have shaped our Christmas celebrations.
He explores the eternal duality between the sweetness of Christkindel and the severity of Hans Trapp, before describing the gourmet rituals of yesteryear: the original decoration of the tree adorned with apples, nuts, and delicious bredele cookies, as well as the fascinating beliefs surrounding Christmas Eve gatherings. The storyteller also evokes the mystery of the miraculous Yule log, left to burn during midnight mass, and the little-known virtues of holy water, believed to bring strength and protection to both people and animals.
A true journey suspended between nostalgia, wonder, and collective memory.
