16th Century Miners' Tower
Built in Echery during the second half of the 16th century, this tower served a judicial and prison role specifically for minors. It once housed dungeons and a court dedicated to this population. Today, it is home to the headquarters of the Miners' Fund, a mutual aid institution founded around 1560. The building, rich in history, has also served as a parish school and then a forestry house before returning to its original purpose. During the visit, members of the association, dressed in ceremonial uniforms reminiscent of mine officers, welcome you and present an exhibition of mining objects and photographs illustrating this heritage.
