3D Bronze Model of Strasbourg's Notre-Dame Cathedral
This bronze model, at a 1:125 scale, faithfully reproduces the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Strasbourg in its current state. Permanently installed on the Place du Château, it rests on a base made of Vosges sandstone that supports it.
It was created by the German sculptor and model maker Egbert Broerken. Its inauguration took place in the presence of Roland Ries, then mayor of Strasbourg, and Monsignor Christian Kratz, auxiliary bishop of Strasbourg. Christophe Fleurov led the project management, carried out during the Millennium year of the cathedral's foundations.
In Strasbourg, another model is also accessible to the public: the "Point de convergence," located at Place d'Austerlitz. It is a bronze relief map at a 1:750 scale representing the historic heart of the city.
