A Philosopher's Garden

This private one-hectare garden, designated as a Remarkable Garden, was developed in the 19th century and is the birthplace of a famous family of artists. Its current owners are restoring and evolving the site while preserving its original spirit. The route invites visitors to explore enclosed gardens bordered by trellis galleries and boxwood hedges, leading to notable trees. It then continues to a large orchard structured by perspective alleys, followed by a small wood. The path runs alongside a medieval rampart, classified as a historic monument, before following the winding course of a stream. It finally reaches the Nymphaeum of the White Lady, a picturesque and poetic structure at the heart of the garden. The site is open from May 6 to October 8, but only by appointment for groups of 10 or more. However, it welcomes the public every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday for groups of at least 4 people, subject to registration before the preceding Friday. Parking is available on the Saint-Léonard road, but access is on foot via the Heffpfad trail. Visitors with mobility difficulties are advised to contact the site in advance. Events punctuate the calendar, notably during the Nature Festival, Garden Rendezvous, and European Heritage Days, featuring exhibitions and musical moments organized in collaboration with the association La Terre est bleue.
