Albert 1st Municipal Park
Established in 1924 on the site of the large industrial, agricultural, and craft exhibition of 1923, this public garden owes its existence to two-thirds of the profits from that event, which was visited by the President of the Republic, Alexandre Millerand. It honors the King of the Belgians for his heroic role during the First World War, hence its name.
Notably, the park features a bust of Mr. Scheurer-Kestner, an industrialist and senator from Thann. Created by the sculptor Dalon, this bust is an exact replica of the one displayed in the gallery of the Luxembourg Palace at the Senate. It was donated to the city by the Scheurer family.
Open to the city, the park charms visitors with its shaded paths connected by small bridges over a peaceful stream. These shaded areas provide a pleasant coolness to the sunny flowerbeds, inviting relaxation and strolls. A section of the garden is specially designed for young children, with a playground dedicated to their play.
