Algolsheim
This village, first mentioned in 1196 under the name Altolvisherde, has roots in a rural history while opening up to industry.
Today, more than half of its inhabitants work in industrial centers along the Rhine, while maintaining ties to agriculture, the area's traditional activity.
The surrounding natural environment is particularly remarkable: the dense and preserved Rhine forest, along with a nearby Rhine island, offer varied landscapes and recreational spaces. In terms of built heritage, the village houses several emblematic religious buildings, including the Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, the temple built in 1864, and the Bethel Church, erected in 1977.
