Alsatian Museum
The Alsatian Museum, open since 1907, is housed in historic and charming old half-timbered houses in Strasbourg. It showcases a rich collection of objects and testimonies illustrating daily life in Alsace in the past. Furniture, traditional costumes, old toys, household utensils, and agricultural tools are displayed in carefully reconstructed interiors, accurately evoking the atmosphere of centuries gone by.
Through various themes such as housing, stages of life, beliefs and religions, as well as agricultural and wine-growing activities, the museum offers a fascinating dive into popular arts and regional traditions. Each space invites visitors to discover the richness of Alsatian heritage, between ancestral know-how and lifestyles of yesteryear.
Note: The museum's farm is currently closed for renovations until 2028.
