Aurora Refuge

This refuge is located in the commune of Altenbach, accessible from the Thann valley by heading towards Goldbach via Willer-sur-Thur. At the village entrance, take the D13bis towards Altenbach, then turn right in the village center for a steep 200-meter climb. The site is reachable by road and has parking. It offers a fully equipped kitchen, a dining hall, two dormitories with a total of 35 beds, and two sanitary blocks with toilets, sinks, and showers. A volleyball court is also available, with rackets provided in winter. Camping is possible nearby, and many hikes are available to visitors, notably to the Grand-Ballon, which peaks at 1424 meters. Group stays, for a weekend or a week, are possible year-round by reservation. For any information, it is necessary to contact the refuge by phone after 7 p.m.
