Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park
The Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park spans three regions: Alsace, Franche-Comté, and Lorraine. It is one of the largest regional natural parks in France, home to exceptional natural environments such as high mountain pastures, peat bogs, beech-fir forests, oak and beech woodlands, limestone grasslands, as well as numerous streams, lakes, and ponds.
At the Schlucht Pass, the renovated "Tétras 1139" site serves as the park's gateway. Managed by the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park in collaboration with local tourist offices, it offers visitors information about the heritage treasures of the great Vosges ridge and its valleys. The site also highlights best practices to preserve the quiet needed by wildlife, which is especially vulnerable in winter.
A shop is available, showcasing products labeled with the Park Values as well as books dedicated to walks and the region's heritage.
