Baumgarten Abbey
Perched in a preserved natural setting, the abbey invites contemplation of the landscape while imagining its original 12th-century appearance. Destroyed during the Peasants' War in the 16th century, it was rebuilt in the 18th century, leaving behind historical remains. A few steps away, the Chapel of the 14 Holy Intercessors, built in 1530, stands in the hamlet of Baumgarten. This site is now occupied by the Trappistine sisters of Ergersheim, who maintain a monastic life there. The chapel, still standing, bears witness to the faith and craftsmanship of the era. Finally, the site also offers accommodation for pilgrims seeking reflection and rest.
