Belmont

This village is part of the history of the Ban-de-la-Roche lordship, also known as Zum Stein. The Reformation was introduced here in the 16th century by Georges-Jean de Veldence, and from 1795 to 1871, the commune was part of the Vosges department.

Today, it is the highest village in the department. The Champ du Feu, famous for its legends, is primarily a popular site for walks, holidays, and winter sports. Partly classified as a state biological reserve, this area preserves remarkable flora and offers a well-preserved natural setting.

Not to be missed, the commune's Protestant church is worth a visit, especially to admire a depiction of the head of Christ attributed to Schoengauer.
