Birthplace of Sister Elizabeth Eppinger
Elizabeth Eppinger, born on September 9, 1814, in this house, was the eldest of eleven children.
Daughter of Georges Eppinger, a farmer, and Barbe Vogt, she attended school for only a few years.
From childhood, she showed deep personal piety.
Suffering from fragile health, often ill and bedridden, her trials helped prepare her for the mission she sensed.
Her sole dream was to become a nun, care for the sick, support the poor, and take in orphans to provide them with an education.
