Bischoffsheim

Nestled in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards, the charming Bischoffsheim preserves traces of its medieval past. Once protected by two fortified castles, the town now retains only a few remnants of these imposing structures. The village is distinguished by its rich architectural heritage: ancient fountains, the most remarkable dating back to 1550, typical half-timbered houses, and majestic carriage gates bear witness to its history. The old seigneurial estates add to the atmosphere of this place steeped in memories. In spring, the blossoming orchards transform the surroundings into an idyllic landscape, inviting long bucolic walks.

A few minutes from the center, the Bischenberg rises like a natural balcony offering a breathtaking view over the Alsace plain. On clear days, the Black Forest can even be seen on the horizon. This site houses an old monastery still in operation, where it is possible to discover a chapel adorned with remarkable stained glass windows, adding a touch of spirituality and art to this enchanting setting.
