Brumath Arboretum
Behind the cemetery, extending the Stephansfeld park, lies a grassy clearing dotted with more than 230 trees.
This botanical diversity invites visitors to stroll and explore, featuring local species such as oak—the emblem of Brumath whose fruit decorates the town's coat of arms—as well as firs, maples, willows, spruces, cypresses, beeches, hornbeams, larches, lindens, wild fruit trees, hollies, and yews. Exotic trees complete the panorama: a common catalpa, Henry's linden, American locust, American sweetgum, tulip tree, paulownia, and medlar.
Among this collection, some species like ginkgo biloba and sequoia were already present in our regions well before the last glaciation, 150 million years ago.
