Captain Chambert's Stele

This solitary cross is the last remnant of a small French military cemetery.

It commemorates the sacrifice of soldiers who fell in March 1915 at Katzenstein during the battles of the First World War.

Over time, the graves were consolidated and transferred in 1925 to the Wettstein military cemetery, where their burials are now gathered.
