Cemetery Chapel

Steige shares a spiritual heritage with the neighboring village of Maisonsgoutte, both belonging to the parish of Saint Martin, which itself is linked to the Honcourt Abbey.

A 1563 mention presenting Steige as an independent parish appears unlikely.

The village's first chapel, built by the inhabitants themselves, was initially dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul before being rededicated to Saint Mary Magdalene. Located below the village and surrounded by the cemetery, the building was expanded around 1720 to accommodate the growing population.
