Cernay
Known since Antiquity for the Battle of Ochsenfeld where Julius Caesar defeated Ariovistus, Cernay has preserved traces of its medieval past.
The town center, laid out in a square plan, notably houses the Thann Gate, which now hosts the historical museum. Stroll through its streets to discover marks of its history, or admire the storks in the eponymous park. A break in the Parc des Rives de la Thur also offers a moment of relaxation by the river.
A town with a rich industrial heritage, Cernay owes its dynamism to its geographical location, the commitment of its inhabitants, and its attractive business zones, hosting diverse sectors such as automotive equipment, chemistry, and textiles.
A key transit point, Cernay is located at the crossroads of Alsace’s most beautiful tourist routes: the Wine Route, the Ridge Route, and the Trout Route.
