Chalmont Massif

Perched above the commune of La Vancelle, this rocky massif rises to 704 meters in altitude. It is distinguished by its imposing fractured sandstone blocks, which inspire many local legends such as the treasure of Charlemagne, the White Lady, and the Fairy Bridge. The site is crossed by the GR 532, a long-distance hiking trail that serves as a starting point for routes leading to several natural curiosities: the Rocher du Coucou, the Fairy Rock, the Salt Shaker Rock, and the Fallen Horse Rock.

At the summit, a viewpoint rock invites a contemplative stop. From this promontory, the view embraces the entire Liepvrette valley, offering a striking panorama of the surrounding landscapes.
