Château de Lorentzen

Perched in the heart of an Alsatian plain, the Château de Lorentzen is a medieval Wasserburg built in the 14th century. Once protected by a wide moat fed by the waters of the Eichel, this lowland castle combines architectural elegance with defensive history. Its 18th-century outbuildings, a tithe barn and a castle mill, offer a harmonious view of the entire estate. Today, the castle remains a private and inhabited property, but its grounds are freely accessible. The outbuildings, however, are open to the public: the tithe barn hosts the permanent exhibition "Secrets of Landscapes" as well as the local Tourist Office. The mill has been converted into accommodation and dining space for groups. A discovery booklet about the castle site is available for purchase at the Tourist Office for 1.50 euros.
