Chimney of the Clemessy Company

The 50-meter chimney, recognizable by its "elephant foot" shaped base, is the last imposing remnant of the former Frey spinning mill.

This company, which remained family-owned until the 1930s, left behind an industrial site structured into two distinct areas. To the east, the former multi-story spinning mill, built in 1897, now houses the Stoessel high school. To the west, the industrial sheds from the 1870s, acquired by the Clemessy company in 1963, bear witness to past activity. Among these buildings is also the energy production plant, erected in 1903, whose iconic chimney still dominates the landscape.
