Church of Saint James the Greater
The Church of Saint James, a listed historic monument, is a building whose history dates back to the 12th century. It is named for its role as a stop on the pilgrims' route to Santiago de Compostela, a role it has maintained over the centuries. After a fire in 1865, the choir and nave were rebuilt, giving the building its current appearance.
Inside, the church harmoniously combines Baroque-style furnishings with modern art, thanks to a collection of paintings donated in 2002 by Camille Claus (1920-2005). These contemporary works engage in a dialogue with the historic architecture, creating a unique atmosphere where tradition and recent creation blend.
