Church of Saints Peter and Paul
Of the Romanesque church, transformed into Gothic style from 1220, only the four-level bell tower remains today.
Its base retains Romanesque elements, while the upper part opens with paired pointed arch windows under a gabled roof.
The original nave, demolished in 1807, was replaced by a large "barn-style" nave built between 1808 and 1809.
Inside, the porch of the former church draws attention.
The portal is topped by a remarkable tympanum depicting Christ in Majesty, blessing the earth, surrounded by Saints Peter and Paul.
Below, a sculpted scene illustrates the parable of the wise and foolish virgins.
The portal also houses a unique polychrome wooden sculpture in Alsace: the "Opening Virgin." This 13th-14th century work, of which only one other example exists in Kaysersberg, opens on two panels adorned with an angel.
