Cleebourg - Bremmelbach

In the heart of Green Alsace, the origins of the Cleebourg vineyard date back to the 8th century, when Benedictine monks from the Abbey of Wissembourg planted the first vines there. From the Middle Ages, this wine-growing terroir became a local pride, with its wines already crossing regional borders. After replanting in 1942 with noble grape varieties, the vineyard experienced continuous growth and now covers 165 hectares, cultivated by 200 winemakers united in a cooperative. These vineyards flourish in the communes of Cleebourg,

  • Oberhoffen-lès-Wissembourg, Rott, and Steinseltz, offering a full range of Alsatian grape varieties:
  • Sylvaner,
  • Pinot Blanc Auxerrois,
  • Riesling,
  • Pinot Noir,
  • Pinot Gris, Muscat, and Gewurztraminer. To explore them, a wine trail invites visitors to stroll between hillsides and enchanting landscapes, where each vine tells the story of an authentic terroir. Nearby, a center dedicated to the reintroduction of the white stork, located at the start of the walking trails, adds a symbolic touch to this immersion between nature and wine-growing traditions.
