Conservatory Orchard of Pear Collections
Opened in 1995 thanks to the initiative of Father Paul Winninger, the Gunstett pear orchard school and conservatory covers an area of 25 ares in the heart of the village, right next to the church.
This unique site houses about 400 fruit trees, representing more than 150 varieties of old and rare pears.
Among them are evocative names such as the Soldat Laboureur pear, the Imperial Oak Leaf, the Schokoladenbirne, the Bon Chrétien d'Hiver, the Colin Noire, the Duchess of Angoulême, and the Countess of Paris. This living conservatory helps preserve and showcase the diversity of traditional pears.
